so what's the point ? it's not really a fox anymore if it acts like a dog of course i'd like an own fox, too but most foxes in captivity act strange and unusual...you often notice that they are "disturbed". If you even have red foxes around your house why don't you watch them wild life with a big scope ?

T.T ~Why do humans do that to foxes? The experiment in Russia er somewhere was trying to make foxes as pets... it was in the late 1800's I think. They bred them and took the tamest offspring and let them breed... they tried to get tamer and tamer foxes over several generations. As they went on the foxes began to wag their tails, began to show different coloring patterns in their fur, were very friendly, and had ears that slightly drooped They began to be "dogs." It was so cool! I couldn't imagine having a fox as a pet... all I've seen them was in the wild~ we have foxes at our house... they are red foxes, with a bit of grey on them. I love them so much! I put out cat food for them, (so they wouldn't devour our chickens like the bobcats did). ~Sorry I typed so much!

as i know silver foxes were breeded BY the humans like the humans caused wolves to become dogs... silver foxes are just another colour variation of red foxes and don't NATURALLY exist in the wild

the reason they were breeded in the first place was mainly to make fur coats out of them -.-
